Tuesday

Not a lot exciting to post today other than we finally decided on a chair for the nursery!!!! This is a big accomplishment for us, as we have been going back and forth constantly on what we wanted. So we compromised...we ordered a dark chocolate oversized microfiber suede lazy boy rocker/recliner! Yes...a lazy boy...part of the compromise. Sean was dead set on a lazy boy recliner and I wanted something a little more fashionable, but yet comfortable. I will say it is pretty darn cozy. Sean was really funny...while we sat in over 20 different chairs, he would pretend he was holding the baby...rocking and talking to the baby...it was pretty darn cute!
So I found out yesterday I didn't pass my one-hour glucola screen that I took last Friday. I am really bummed out about and hope the 3 hour test I do shows better results. Monday morning I am all set to go in at 7:30 after a 10 hour fast to once again drink the sugary syrup, this time sitting in the waiting room for 3 hours. They will then do another blood draw and hope my blood sugars metabolize appropriately during those 3 hours. I am NOT looking forward to the three hour wait. Anyone have any good books you could suggest????

Where have I been?

It has been awhile since I have posted and it has been a crazy week. I have made a promise to myself that I would not use my laptop in the living room, so it has been a test, but very nice all in the same sentence. We have had a busy week with work, Sean was gone for a few days, and I have just been busy all around with work. The days have been a bit warm, making me move a little slower than usual. We welcomed the weekend with wide open arms, really looking forward to a weekend of rest and relaxation! Friday night we had a great bonfire with our good friends Mike & Deb Rozewicz, it was a perfect evening and great company...lots of laughs! Yesterday Sean and I packed up and headed to South Haven to enjoy the beautiful Lake Michigan beach, it was absolutely gorgeous and great to see so many families enjoying the lakefront! The weekend weather has been perfect. Today we are planning on taking the boat out and doing a little fishing!

Bump Tracker: 27 1/2 weeks

Things continue to go well on the pregnancy front. Baby Love is about 2 1/2 lbs and 14 inches long, the comparable produce of the week is a head of cauliflower! (a very large head of cauliflower, in my opinion) I had my glucola screening for gestational diabetes on Friday, still waiting on results. All I can say is that I hope it comes back normal because I don't want to do that again. I had to drink this "not so delicious" orange drink and then sit in the waiting room for one hour before they could draw my blood. If it doesn't come back normal, I must drink the crap again and sit in the waiting room for 3 hours...one hour was long enough! Tomorrow I go in for my rhogam shot again, being I am rh negative, I need to have this shot every 12 weeks so my body doesn't form antibodies towards a positive blood type.

I hope you all have an enjoyable week, I am looking forward to a 4-day work week. It is so hard for me to believe it is almost July!!! Where does time go?? Although, I am really looking forward to September!

Just another Monday...

Sean and I had a great weekend up North on Mackinac Island. I had a conference to attend for work so Sean joined me for the weekend. It was a great opportunity for us to enjoy the non-motorized island. We were able to spend most of Saturday afternoon exploring the island. We rented bikes and rode all around Mackinac Island, 8.1 miles, sampled lots of Mackinac Fudge, took a horse/carriage ride, and just enjoyed the beautiful weather. Our hotel, The Grand Hotel A view from our Hotel

We are so thankful for our dear friends, the Eliuk family for taking such good care of our boy, Gunner. I think he gets depressed when we come home though, we aren't as much fun as the three kids! Last night after we got home, we (Gunner included) went out on one of the nearby lakes about 1/4 mile from our house so Sean could do a little fishing before we kicked off another work week. This morning he caught a flight to North Carolina...back to the grind. Gunner and I are going to hold off on our daily walk until later tonight, its 93 degrees right now...neither one of us would last the whole route!

Baby Love got two thumbs up today at our doctor appointment. This child of ours has decided to completely cuddle up in my upper right side, making it not so pleasant when I sit down, it's been pretty uncomfortable latey but I hate to complain. Because our Sweet Little One is not exploring the left side one bit and is sticking to its comfort zone, the baby measured at 27 1/2 weeks today, a week ahead, however she didn't feel it was completely accurate. Therefore, at my next appointment they are going to do another ultrasound just to make sure our Baby Love is on the right track for growth.

Happy Father's Day!

Gunner and Baby Love wish Sean a Happy Father's Day!
My dad and I on my wedding day

Dedicated to my dad on Father's day!
A Dad is a person who is loving and kind,
And often he knowswhat you have on your mind.
He's someone who listens, suggests, and defends.
A dad can be oneof your very best friends!
He's proud of your triumphs, but when things go wrong,
A dad can be patientand helpful and strong
In all that you do,a dad's love plays a part.
There's always a place for him deep in your heart.
And each year that passes, you're even more glad,
More grateful and proudjust to call him your dad!
Thank you, Dad...for listening and caring, for giving and sharing,
but, especially, for just being you!
Happy Father's Day, I love you!

26 weeks

Bump Tracker: 26 weeks
As we near the end of our 2nd trimester I am in awe of how quickly the time has gone. I am still feeling really well and Baby Love continues to get two thumbs up from our doctor. We have another appointment on Monday afternoon. I have noticed on Gunner and my daily walks I get winded much easier these days, I guess that is what happens carrying around additional weight! Our Baby Love is almost 2 lbs, beginning to hear mommy and daddy's voices more clear, starting to open/close eyes, and continues to be quite the kick boxer! Sean is having so much fun these days watching my belly "jump" from time to time. His latest is "wake up baby", along with a few rubs to try and get our Sweet Little One movin' and groovin'. Mother Nature has gotten me on a pretty good schedule..up at 1 a.m and 3:30 a.m (give or take a couple of minutes but nothing far from that) for a trip to the bathroom. I am amazed...it is clockwork, no joke!

Update...

Our good family friends that underwent procedures for a kidney transplant were successful. Both are doing well and recovery nicely at this time. Please continue to keep them and their family in your thoughts and prayers for a solid recovery and the transplant completely takes. This is a brother/sister transplant, one can only imagine the emotion this family has endured leading up to this day. Pray for continued strength and support!

Prayer Request

Please keep very good family friends of ours in your thoughts and prayers today, tomorrow, & the days to come. They are getting prepared for a transplant, one being the recipient, and another being the donor...all are in needs of prayers that the transplant goes well, quick recovery, and the recipient doesn't reject the transplant.

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
