Project & Friday night in the Park

With summer approaching and the boys loving every minute of being outdoors, I am finding it hard to catch up on our family blog. I don't want to miss the joys of these two little boys and the happenings in our days, as they seem to be flying by! The other night Sean got home from work late so as he was eating dinner Luke sat across from him to have a little chat about their days. Sean just looked at Luke and said "its like I am having a conversation with a grown up!" Luke is very curious, asking lots of questions, sharing about his days, and he loves talking about the fun he has with his friends. Ben is interacting so much more and is moving all over the place. He is exercising his vocal chords quite frequently, he just wants to be heard in our crazy house! Ben, you fit right in!!!! He is eating more and more table food, finding his way all over the house, climbing on everything, and playing so well!
We enjoyed a very laid back Memorial day weekend, spending most of our time at home. Friday night we had some neighbors over for a casual BBQ, Saturday night Sean and I drove to his home town for a wedding reception while the boys stayed home and played with Uncle Mitch and Kolbi.  The rest of the weekend was spent playing outside, going for runs, and just hanging out! It was a great way to spend our extended weekend. Tuesday, we began a very exciting project for our family!!! We are doing a major landscaping project in our backyard, two tiered retaining wall, fire pit, play area for the kids, and hauling in 12 loads of dirt to even out some ground for a nice, serene backyard shaded by beautiful trees.  Our family loves spending countless hours outside so we are very excited to enjoy our backyard!
Friday night we took the boys to our city park to enjoy the carnival rides, swings, and jungle gym. From Memorial day through Labor day they have mini carnival rides going 7 days a week, it is such a simple treat and Luke loves it!
Day 2 of the project, forming the retaining walls
12 loads of dirt hauled into our backyard
Thursday was a rainy day keeping my dad out of the field at home, so my parents took a road trip to come visit the boys, and us of course!
 The boys wrestling with Bop
their own little wrestling match...one of many I am sure!
Luke having fun flying the airplane
Ben loves to swing! I have the cutest video of him just screaming away and waving his arms with excitement
Luke's favorite ride at the park...daddy enjoyed it too!
Ben & mommy watching the train go by!
